Some wear stethoscopes.
Others wear overalls.
Some wear suits, uniforms, pajamas, jeans and even camouflage.
What makes someone a hero?
Its easy... they give selflessly.
They do the right thing even when they don't want to.
They make life a brighter place to live.
They don't need recognition or a pat on the back.
They don't give up when the going gets tough.
You are certain to come in contact with at least one everyday.
Other times you yourself will be one.
They are super humans that stretch themselves far beyond imagination.
They work the extra hour to help one last patient
They check on the kids one last time before finishing the laundry.
They work two jobs to make ends meet.
They patiently listen while you complain about the same thing for the tenth time.
They skip dinner so their kids can eat.
They get out of bed to fight another day even when the pain is too much to bear.
They stay up late grading assignments; the students didn't want to do... and their parents didn't care about.
They hold your uncle’s hand as he takes his last breath.
They protect you from the bad guys so you can sleep comfortably at night.
They are the hope dealers.
The shoulder to cry on.
The encouragement you needed to keep pushing forward.
To some they are nameless, faceless strangers but to you they are everything.
Maybe it’s your mother, your therapist, or your nail tech.
Do they even know how special they are?

I looked up to God and cried
"Lord, please save me from despair."
A gentle white light as pure as snow surrounded me, providing the overwhelming sense of hope I desperately needed.
I looked around the room, and everything appeared the same.
I looked in the mirror, and I appeared the same.
My surroundings stayed the same, but something inside of me changed.
I was given the gift of hope.
You can’t see hope nor touch it.
But you can feel it.
Hope lifts the soul and allows you to soar exactly where you belong. Lifted high on the wings of an angel.
Hope is always there, yes, even for you.
God takes the wounded and makes them warriors.
He restores the broken and brings the promise of a better tomorrow.
All you need to do is ask.
The question is, why don't you?

She is the kind of girl that brightens your day with just a smile.
Her eyes will light up your life.
When she walks into a room, people take notice.
She is BEAUTIFUL.
But she is more than just a pretty face.
She is the kind of girl who will love you unconditionally, without limits.
The kind who will change the world with her wisdom and understanding.
She's a role model to young ladies everywhere.
She can bring home the bacon and fry it in the pan.
A style that’s all her own…
She is Strong.
Confident.
Courageous.
Compassionate.
Much more than a pretty face.

I miss God
I want to feel his comfort, hope, love, and security.
I know how to reach him. I've talked to him a million times.
Yet here I stand alone, unwilling to reach out.
I'm grateful that when I'm ready, he'll be there just waiting without judgment to give me all that I desire.
He's all around me... in every flower, hug, smile, and rainbow, yet still I choose to miss God.

In life, you will receive many gifts.
Some will be packaged in ribbons and bows, hidden in places where no one will go.
Some will be planned for months on end, and others impulsively given to friends.
Some gifts are extravagant and come at great cost, while others cost nothing but time and great thought.
This Christmas, when you look under the tree.
Realize there are more presents than the gifts you can see.
There is love, joy, and peace to be found.
Simply open your eyes and look all around.

The man in the mirror says change your ways.
The man looks away from the mirror and suddenly strays.
What way will he go?
What path will he choose?
He doesn't listen to his heart and begins to lose.
Maybe one day he'll find his way back.
Hopefully, staying on the right track.
For your true destiny is found within, so please, for yourself, take a look in the mirror again.

I woke up this morning and, imagine my surprise, the sky was blue, the sun was shining, and the birds were chirping.
Has no one told them?
People rushed frantically, anxious, overwhelmed, and exhausted by the pressures of their daily lives, completely missing the beauty around them.
I watched in disbelief…
Did they not know how precious each day was?
Life…
How can something so relentless and cold also be so delicate and magnificent?
Here one day and gone the next… Giving no promises of tomorrow.
Is it possible that when one life is over, the others must go on?
Has no one told them my father is gone?
